jess & jason. 7.12.14

Words truly cannot express how amazing and unique Jess and Jason’s wedding celebration was.  I’d actually go so far as to say that photos really can’t do it justice either — whoa!  Jess is Catholic, Jason Jewish, and they managed to have the most beautiful and personalized wedding designed to embrace both religions.  A priest and a rabbi.  A unity candle and a chuppah.  The breaking of the glass.  Blessings from both the priest and rabbi before dinner.  And my favorite… The Horah (aka Hava Nagila!)  It was so amazing to experience, not only because I have never witnessed any type of Jewish celebration (much less photographed one), but because two very different points of view can indeed meet in the middle, and the outcome is beautiful, my friends.

What better way to celebrate our nation’s birthday than with a wedding?  I love how Andy and Megan embraced the spirit of the holiday and incorporated it into so many of the details… from the groomsmen’s socks to the barbeque-style meal.  It was one big 4th of July party for all of their guests, and I think it’s safe to say that everyone had a blast.

This was an amazing day, my friends.  The weather was perfect, everyone was so happy to be there, and these are two beautiful people.  I was super honored to be asked to document such a glorious day.

…and my very first blog post on my brand new website!  Woooo!

I can’t express how happy I was to be involved in their GORGEOUS day.  I met Moira very randomly for the first time at the public library in Winona.  She saw the name on my card at the checkout and said, “Wait, you’re Keelie?!  I love your photography!”.  These are the kinds of things that this humble photographer doesn’t forget about, trust me.  Probably six months later she contacted me about doing wedding pictures for her and her fiancé, Rod.  I have never met a more spunky and joyous couple.  They’re not afraid to show the world how much they adore one another, and that my friends, makes my job pretty darn easy…

Project Firehouse featured on KSMQ

During the summer of 2011 I had some photography work on display as part of an exhibit in Winona. A woman from the program “Off 90”, a production of KSMQ out of Austin, MN, saw my work and asked if I’d be willing to be featured on their program, which shares stories about the arts, culture and history along the I-90 corridor in Minnesota.

I said, “Well, sure.”
